Blog Challenge: Choose Joy

Saturday's joy was spending time with our 20 month old nephew. He is such a little boy now. My sis-in-law and brother-in-law live in Seattle so we don't see them as often as we would like. Yesterday we headed out in the yucky nasty weather to pick up DD#1 and then head north into the eye of the wind tunnel known as Troutdale. This is where my inlaws live. Troutdale is at the mouth of the Columbia Gorge and it is notorious for it's winds. When we got there it was blowing around 40 MPH and blowing the snow into amazing drifts.

The kids had a lot of fun playing with our nephew and Matt and I had a nice time visiting with his parents, sister, brother-in-law and eventually his brother-in-law's sister. It is a joy to spend time with family. Dnephew is growing so fast. He is walking/running everywhere and starting to talk. He and DS share a love of Thomas the Tank Engine and had fun playing with the trains together. It is always sad to leave after such a short visit but we had to head out to beat the freezing rain home. So even though it was a short visit, it was a joy to see our precious family.
